World Water Day - 22 March 2026

Journée mondiale de l'eau 2026

Access to safe drinking water and sanitation is essential for the health, dignity and rights of women and girls. When this access is limited, they are the ones who suffer the most from the consequences: illnesses linked to contaminated water, the use of unsanitary facilities, and long hours spent collecting water. This daily burden often prevents them from attending school or taking part in income‑generating activities. Structural inequalities, traditional gender roles and a lack of infrastructure further increase their vulnerability.

Since its creation, the Chrétiens pour le Sahel Foundation has been working to change this reality. We support water, hygiene and sanitation projects that place women at the heart of decision‑making. Our approach aims to strengthen their voice, their responsibilities and their capacity to take action in water management. In this way, we contribute to a healthier, fairer and more prosperous future for communities in the Sahel.
