World Development Information Day 2026

Development does not depend solely on financial investment or public policies. It also requires the commitment of citizens and the active participation of the populations concerned. In countries of the Global North, it is essential to raise public awareness of the realities faced by people in developing countries and of our interdependence in an increasingly connected world. In beneficiary countries, the involvement of local communities remains a fundamental condition for the success and sustainability of development projects.

By raising awareness among the Luxembourg public about the realities of the Sahel and mobilizing resources to support development projects, the Foundation helps strengthen international solidarity. At the same time, the projects supported by CPS promote the active participation of local communities, particularly in the areas of agriculture, access to water, and education. In this way, CPS works concretely towards greater social justice and a shared future for communities in both the Global North and the Global South.
