International Day of Rural Women

Femme rurale

Empowering rural women is not only a matter of justice, it is the key to overcoming poverty, hunger and the devastating effects of climate change. These women are the pillars of food security, producing half of what we eat and acting as the primary guardians of the environment.

Yet in the Sahel, they are disproportionately affected by poverty. They face glaring inequalities: restricted access to land and credit, lack of agricultural inputs, insufficient access to education and, above all, drinking water. Their essential work often remains invisible and unpaid, limiting their decision-making power.

The Fondation Chrétiens pour le Sahel is taking concrete action to remove these structural barriers and enable women to become true agents of change. Your donations are vital to transforming these challenges into opportunities.

Food Security and Economic Independence

We implement resilient agriculture and livestock projects specifically designed for women.

  • Financing collective vegetable gardens to ensure healthy food and stable incomes.
  • Access to microcredits to launch income-generating activities and break the cycle of dependency.

Access to Essential Services and Human Dignity

Your donations fund infrastructure that frees up women's time and improves their health.

  • Construction and rehabilitation of boreholes for direct access to drinking water, reducing arduous chores and exposure to disease.
  • Support for education and health training to strengthen their decision-making power within their households and communities.

Every contribution you make to our foundation is an act of empowerment. You are not just giving money; you are giving a rural woman:

  • Access to water for her family.
  • Seeds to cultivate hope.
  • A means to take control of her destiny and participate in building a more just and resilient Sahel.

Join us today. Let's invest in women, let's invest in the future!
